5 out of 5 stars Definitely One of the Best Gifts I Have Ever Gotten :)   July 28, 2010
BlueSummer
My first experience with the Keurig Brewer was in an office that I worked in... and I immediately fell in love with it!!! I am a heavy coffee drinker, and running out all of the time can get expensive if you do not want coffee that has been sitting around all day and stale by the time you get to it. An added plus is the great assortment of coffee and teas you have to select from with the K-Cups-- because we all know that everyone likes something different. I love the fact that I can find organic Newman's coffee and green teas--which are healthier options.

My biggest concern was that the home version of this brewer would not be as sturdy and dependable as our office model-- but after receiving it as a Christmas gift from my husband, my worries quickly disappeared. I have had my Keurig for almost a year now, and have had absolutely no problems... and I use it several times each day. It is also great for company, because the variety and convenience lets you brew a quick, great tasting cup of coffee in less than a minute, and each person can pick what they like. They all love that! And believe me, it saves time.

My kids also love the hot chocolate and cold tea varieties available. I have found myself hiding my cups so they do not finish them too quickly-- really, we all enjoy it.

The operation is simple and convenient, it always makes great tasting coffee, it has been sturdy and dependable, it allows me to try something different each time I brew a cup, and it is simply fun to use. I would definitely recommend this product-- I don't think I could ever go back to using a traditional coffee maker after owning a Keurig!! Worth the money :)

1 out of 5 stars Poor Workmanship   July 27, 2010

I've owned two Keurigs in 3 years. Both died. The first one died within the one year warranty, so that was good. The second one died after two years so that was bad and Keuring wouldn't do anything. For the price of these coffee makers, they should have a longer warranty. I have many friends who have had similar problems with their machines malfunctioning in short periods of time. I'm done with Keurig. The machine makes a great cup of coffee, it's just poorly made. I'll go back to my old $30 coffee maker that's been going strong for over 20 years now at work.

3 out of 5 stars Great when it works, which is about 80% of the time   July 26, 2010
Colorado Joe (Denver, CO USA)
We've had this unit for about 9 months now and find it to be less reliable than it should be. Sometimes it goes through the motions of making a cup of coffee but no coffee comes out, like it's constipated. We keep the unit clean and have used a paper clip to remove coffee residue from the pumping unit but it still fails about 20% of the time. We also have a commercial unit at the office that fails about 10% of the time. Great concept but Keurig's engineers have more work to do before I can recommend it.

1 out of 5 stars Don't by a Keurig ANYTHING!!!!   July 24, 2010

I read the poor reviews and ignored them (my bad!). However, all those reviews about the poor performance of this product were spot on! You will only own it about a month and it will stop producing a cup of coffee or give you more than one (make sure you have a pyrex measuring cup on stand by to handle the overflow). When you call the company for a solution, they will give you all sorts of information on how you CAN FIX THEIR FAULTY EQUIPMENT!!!!!!!!!. Yes, I descaled my equipment, yes I have used a paper clip to make sure the coffee basket was not clogged, yes, I have turned the machine off and on. LISTEN PEOPLE AT KERURIG: MY WATER IS FILETERED IN THE REFRIGERATOR, RE-FILTERED IN A PITCHER IN THE REFRIGERATOR AND RE-FILTERED IN THE MACHINE BECAUSE I BOUGHT ONE OF YOUR CUSTOM FILTERS FOR THE WATER RESEVOIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bottom line is this company does not care whether their product works or not, they just want your money and see ya' later. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY....YOU WILL REGRET IT. Hopefully AMAZON will realize how the reflection that buying from Keurig on the Amazon website makes them appear to the public. Of course, I could have trusted the reviews of the smart Amazon shoppers and not purchased this piece of junk.....Hope the trash man finds some use for it!!!
