Marginal Beverage Warmer August 5, 2010 Mika I ordered this thinking FINALLY I would have a mug warmer that kept my beverage HOT, not so. This is much like any other $8.95 coffee warmer, I can't really tell the difference, it's not worth the extra money. I have several mug warmers, as I like one on my vanity, one in the kitchen and one by my computer. This one sits by my computer now, and I can't tell a big difference from my old Rival mug warmer. All in all I'm disappointed. I thought I would finally have THE mug warmer for me. I like my beverage REALLY warm and this mug warmer is adequate, but not great. I may try the one from the Vermont store that was written about in another review. :(
Works well enough July 6, 2010 R. HEINE This toastmaster works well enough to be a buy and gets the job done. I dont put mugs on it that much but I use it for my glass or aluminum tea pots. It will keep the tea pot hot enough most of the time depending on the mug, pot or lids I have on them. Mugs are a different story because if you dont have a cover on the top then the heat is going to escape obviously so you might as well buy a Chinese tea mug and take the tea strainer out and put your coffee in there instead and put the top on it.
Note: I purchased Walgreen's brand candle warmer and it sucks for mugs and candles so I wouldnt recommend it. I purchased Bed Bath and Beyond's one([...] 6.99 I believe) reluctantly on a store clerks recommendation since they didnt have the toastmaster in stock( I wanted a second one for my desk) and it actually turned out better than the toastmaster. The circumference is bigger so better in my mind for my tea pots because the toastmaster you can barely fit certain mugs and tea pots on it.
I have an older version of this product... May 6, 2010 Guacamole (Seattle, WA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
...and I love it. It definitely saves me several trips to the microwave per cup of coffee. The coffee does become more lukewarm eventually, but I think there's a reason the plate isn't made to get hotter.
For one, the way it is now, it won't burn you if you accidentally touch it. You can't keep your hand on it or anything, but it's not DANGEROUS at all. For another thing, once your coffee gets low, the plate WILL keep it hot. If it was any hotter, your last inch or so of coffee would become scalding-hot and evaporate too fast. (If you leave it low for a little while, the coffee starts to get a film on top from the moisture evaporating out of it.)
When I leave the window by my desk open, a full cup of coffee on the plate will cool off noticeably faster than if the window is closed. So if you have a problem with this warmer not keeping your coffee hot, it may be too cool (or have too much airflow) in your room.
In short, this thing is great for what it is, and IMO does exactly what it's supposed to.

This is a great coffee warmer. It even warms up cold beverages. It works like a charm.
Does what it needs to April 9, 2010 Sundancr12 (Red Bank, new jersey, US) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The product works great and certainly meets my expectations for it, but doesn't really go much further. It doesn't heat the coffee very evenly. The bottom gets really hot but the top of the coffee can get cool, even cold. Then when you drink it, it becomes a weird temperature in the mouth. I was able to remedy this by keeping a spoon on the dresser to mix it before I drank. Comes with a cup, but my guess is that you can use any cup.
