Strikingly retro in brushed stainless-steel with black-plastic accents, this 12-cup coffeemaker includes Cuisinart's best brewing technology and premium features for ease and flexibility. The digital clock/timer is programmable for automatically brewing "wake-up" coffee at a selected time and for turning off the warming plate up to four hours in advance. Removing the glass carafe from the warming plate automatically pauses the brewing process for a quick pour, and the warming plate's temperature can be adjusted. For maximum flavor, the machine can be set to brew one to four 5-ounce cups or five to twelve cups, and it includes a charcoal water filter. For convenience, a permanent Gold Tone filter eliminates messy paper filters and an indicator-light shows when decalcification is needed. I can't complain because it continues to work properly I just now know i want a mechanism that makes better use of good beans to product more richly-flavored coffee, yet Amazon was excellent in offering detailed descriptions of this "used" product and made me trust their process here where I will look for more non-book products to buy.

this coffee pot worked fine until just after the 90 day warranty expired and now i can't pull the pot out while the coffee is brewing because the coffee continues flowing onto the base and and the coffee overflows the basket.

I have had 2 of these in 2 years Cusinart DCC 2000 coffee maker and would not recommend because I had same problem with both. They would not honor the warranty due to the age.
Would not recommend due to the POOR service dept and repeat failure with the same problem.

This was a great buy. Took a chance on buying refurbished and the coffeemaker arrived in perfect condition. Although, I didn't want a coffeemaker with a filter that needed to be replaced, I decided to buy because of the Cuisinart brand. As it turned out, the filter is easy to access and replace, not the messy problem my other coffeemaker posed.
I would definately buy refurbished from Cuisinart again.

We bought this item after reading it's the best overall coffeemaker in Consumer Reports. The only complaints we have is the control setting buttons are somewhat small and hard to read, the digital clock is not illuminated and the water-fill line is not visable from exterior of machine. Otherwise, it lives up to its reputation, makes terrific coffee (much better than our old Black & Decker), keeps coffee warm for up to 3 hrs and carafe is comfortable to use, easy to clean. Worth the money.
