 Great coffee maker, not a gaudy behemoth July 19, 2010

The Braun KF580 is a wonderful ooffeemaker. It has an automatic shutoff mechanicism that allows shutoff at any time between 20 miuntes and 2 hours. It has a "fill gauge" that enables the exact amount of water. Every part can be cleaned. It makes great coffee, has a streamlined design, and is relatively small and compact--not like the gaudy behemoths that recently have come out.

Purchased the Braun KF580 coffee maker and I am thoroughly please with it. I especially like the shut off timer.

Received this Braun coffee maker on a Friday afternoon, made a pretty good pot of coffee on Saturday morning, then found it DEAD on Sunday - no lights, no display, no reason. One (6 cup) pot of coffee for the cost of the coffee maker plus S&H and that comes out to about $14 a cup of coffee. The coffee was pretty good but not that good.
I bought this Braun coffee maker (Czech made if anyone cares) only because my previous Braun, of only a disappointing 3 years of use, stopped working suddenly and I didn't want to waste the dozen or so Braun water filters I had stockpiled. I've got some real doubts now about Braun coffee makers and although I'll lose the money on the cost of the Braun water filters I won't be using, I'll consider a different brand. Heck, I might just use the 4 cup Mr. Coffee maker I use in my RV...it's not too fancy but it's fast, reliable, and makes a darn good cup of coffee.
I'll be checking with DiscountJungle and Braun to see what can be done to replace this coffee maker. I'll update my review, hopefully with a cheery, uplifting, all's-well-with-the-world report. Yeah, right.

we bought this Braun KF580 Aroma Deluxe 10cup cofeemaker several months ago. And, I'm so sorry we did!! this machine brew coffee very fast, resulting in a very weak taste. We have to use 2 filters and double the dose of coffee than usual(believe me, a bag of coffe goes very fast at this speed) and still can't have a good cup of coffee. You can't even have that good smell of coffee in the house when brewing, it is such a disapointment for us. It's to a point that I surch for another coffeemaker now. If you like to wake up and smell coffee in the house and drink a good cup of coffee with a rich aroma, DON'T buy this model its a waste of money.

So glad we could find this on Amazon as we had been to several stores and could not find it. Hoep this does not mean that Braun is not making them any more. LOVE it, and it is exactly like our old one that finally died after many years of use and at least 2 pots per day.
