Product Description
The First Years' popular bottle warmer works with all bottle styles -- standard, wide-necked, angled, even disposables. You can also use it to warm jars of baby food. It keeps bottles cold for up to eight hours, then warms a chilled bottle in minutes. Features an auto shut-off for added safety and a built-in night light that helps makes late-night feedings a little easier. Bottles not included.

Editorial Review
About the size of a coffee maker, this electric baby bottle cooler/warmer will be a big convenience for bleary-eyed parents who are tired of stumbling down to the kitchen in the middle of the night. At the rear of the unit, an insulated compartment keeps two 8-ounce bottles cool for up to eight hours. (There's no refrigerant, just a specially shaped container that can be filled with water, frozen, and then slipped into place.) At the front, an electrically heated water container produces steam, which heats one bottle to the correct temperature in about five minutes. There's also a night-light built into the front of the unit. Note that the unit cannot be used with glass bottles. --Richard Farr

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic! Fast and calms the baby   March 15, 2010

I pump exclusively because my baby has trouble latching on. Before getting this product, I used to heat milk by putting the milk filled bottle into hot water. It took forever to heat and or what seems like forever when you have a baby screaming for milk. The BabyPro heats us the milk very quickly and is very easy to use. I know there are compliants about the warmer not getting the milk hot enough or getting it too hot. The instructions say you are suppose to pour a certain amount of water into the machine depending on the milk quantity being used. My baby wants to eat at different times and so I heat up various quantities of milk throughout the day. I can't remember all the different suggested water amounts to pour. What I do is I just pour more water into the warmer and pick up the bottle the test the temperature once or twice. If I accidentally overheat, I put the bottle into a bowl of cold water. It works well for me.

The added bonus of this machine is that the heating unit makes a boiling water noise when it is working. My baby loves the sound of the boiling water (it also sounds like rainfall) and really stops crying when she hears the sound. So the warmer really has double duty. No longer does she scream at the top of her lungs at night and wakes my working husband. As soon as I hear my baby start to cry, I start up the warmer, put her next to it, changer her diaper while the milk is being heated, and let the warmer run a little longer while I am feeding her (you just put more water than what's recommended). Once I am done feeding her, the boiling water noise helps put her back to sleep. No more screaming at night. Of all the baby products I've purchased, this is by far my favorite and the most useful!!!

Oh yeah, I more thing. The cooler and ice pack lasts about 8 hours. It's been convenient not having to go to the kitchen/fridge to pick up the milk. Everything is all in one place where I need it and I get feed her and get back to sleep alot faster and quieter now.

5 out of 5 stars A must have!   January 23, 2010

I bought this for my daughter before she had her first child. I am ordering it again as a shower gift. My daughter says there are two absolute must haves for her: mylicon and this warmer with the cooler for extra bottles. She doesn't have to leave the bedroom to prepare a bottle for my granddaughter and by the time her diaper is changed, the bottle is warm. Read the instructions and pay attention to the amount of water you add to get an even temp each time. Absolutely gets 5 stars.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good product, if you keep it clean   January 20, 2010

This cooler/warmer combination is a definite time saver. It keeps the two bottles "cool enough" for overnight feedings so we don't have to go downstairs to the fridge. And depending on which bottles you use, you don't necessarily have to only use the ice pack it came with. Sometimes we just use one of those "blue ice" packs that we always keep in our freezer.

The warmer works great, BUT you gotta keep it clean. No matter how careful we are with the bottles, some milk always spills into the warming chamber. After a while, the spilled milk burns in the chamber and creates a layer of "gunk". When this happens, the warmer does not work as well. So periodically clean out the warming chamber (and baskets) and you're good to go.

3 out of 5 stars Needs a bit of tweaking   November 29, 2009

For the first 4 months of my daughter's life, this bottle warmer was a life saver. I used the little 4 oz bottles, and was able to keep two bottles at the bedside (chilled) and when the baby woke up I popped it in and was ready to go. However the number of millimeters of water they tell you to put in the warming part is not always accurate. Sometimes the 2mL does the trick, sometimes it's PIPPING HOT and sometimes it's as if you just took it out of the fridge. So I basically had to throw in about 5 mL of water and keep taking the bottle out and testing it until it was ready. Sort of an inconvenience, but hey it worked. Once I got to the 8 oz bottles it was a big mess. If I was able to heat the contents of the bottle, it ended up melting the bottom of the bottle. And even still the bottle was TOO hot. And the water that dripped from the bottom of the bottle ended up scorching your hands. And you couldn't use glass bottles because you'd burn your hand off. This warmer needs a bit of tweaking, or at the very least they need to directly specify how to avoid burning yourself and ruining all your bottles. That being said, if you are patient enough to work with the bottle warmer, it is great for the first 4 oz. After that, it's useless.

3 out of 5 stars Works O.K. but not Wowed!   October 18, 2009
Kathryn Campbell (Nashville, TN)
I've never used the bottle cooler part, so I can't comment on that. I think if you kept this unit in your bedroom or the babies room where you'd want to store some bottles in the cooler instead of having to go to the refridgerator to get them, it would serve a good purpose. But I always go out to the kitchen to use this, so it's easier to just grab a bottle from the fridge.

The little test-tube-looking water containers that you fill up and then pour into the unit to steam the bottles are a bit of a pain. The little caps that go on them are difficult to snap on and off with one hand when you have a screaming, hungry baby in the other arm! And it's hard to fill them up to the accurate measurement line under the faucet....basically, you constantly have to pour a little water out--Oh, wait, that was too much---fill it back up under the faucet--Oh, wait, that was too much...you see where I'm going with this. So, the water test-tube things aren't very user friendly.

The other thing is that the little basket and the container itself that the bottle goes into gets grungy pretty quickly. It leaves a brownish film on the basket and inside the hole where the basket goes into, so you have to clean it out frequently. And I've definately found that the amount of water they say to put in the steamer according to the size and temp. of the bottle isn't quite right. You really have to play with the amount of water it takes to appropriately warm the bottle up. Scrap the instructions!! Thankfully, my baby isn't very temperature-sensitive when it comes to taking her bottle.

On the positive side, I think using this thing is probably easier than running the bottle under warm tap water or putting it in a pan of boiling water because it does heat the bottle up rather quickly.
